You can add a non-clickable navigation item to serve as a parent label for a dropdown menu.
A non-clickable menu item does not link to a page; it acts as a container for subpages.
Before making changes, review how to manage pages and navigation.
When to use a non-clickable menu item
Use a non-clickable item when you:
- Need a main menu label (for example, “Services”)
- Want to group multiple subpages under it
- Do not want the top-level item to open a separate page
This creates a hierarchical dropdown structure in your navigation, improving clarity for visitors.
How to create a non-clickable menu item
- Open the Website Builder editor
- Go to the Pages section
- Click the + icon to add a new page
- Select Non-clickable Menu (or similar parent-only option)
- Enter the menu name
- Click Publish
The item will now appear in your navigation without linking anywhere.
Adding subpages under a non-clickable item
After creating the parent menu item, you can:
- Create new subpages
- Drag existing pages underneath it
- Nest pages below it to form a dropdown
Subpages will appear when users hover over or click the parent menu item, depending on your theme. Understanding how page structure works helps you organize your menu efficiently.
Important notes
- Non-clickable items do not display page content
- If you need a clickable page, create a standard page instead
- Navigation changes require publishing to appear live
- After updating your menu, always remember to publish your website
