What To Do When SiteLock Finds a Vulnerability Print

  • 1

If SiteLock detects a vulnerability on your website, your dashboard will show a failed status for the specific scan that discovered the issue. If you have email notifications enabled, you’ll also receive an email alerting you to the problem. If notifications are turned off, you can still see the alert in the “Messages and Alerts’’ section at the bottom of your SiteLock dashboard. That section always contains the same update that would have been sent via email.

When you notice a failed scan, review the notification to see if SiteLock has suggested any steps for resolving minor issues. For anything more complex or unclear, you can reach out to support@whogohost.com for support.

A failed scan does not trigger any warning for your site visitors. The SiteLock seal on your site will continue to show the date of your last successful scan. However, if the issue is not fixed after a few days, SiteLock will remove your seal and replace it with a transparent 1-pixel image. Visitors will never see a message that says your site “failed” a scan — SiteLock simply stops displaying the seal until the issue is resolved.
