The .ng registry, NiRA recently opened the new '.i.ng' ccTLD zone on May 8, 2015. This is a first in the series of the long awaited vowel ccTLD zones which is now opened for Sunrise Registrations (the first phase of a domain name's availablility). Examples include excit.i.ng, danc.i.ng, school.i.ng, shin.i.ng etc.
This is a pre-launch period of 30days when the .i.ng domain is exclusively reserved and made available only to be purchased by registrants, trademark right holders, individuals and organizations of other corresponding .ng versions of currently registered domain names,in order to register a corresponding domain name during the sunrise period and to protect their names/brands prior to and during the launch of this new ccTLDs after this period when the registration is made available to the general public.
Trademark holders will be required to validate their trademark through the .ng registry inorder to register a corresponding domain name during this sunrise period. Do note that validation could take a long period.
The sunrise period for the *.i.ng domain names ends on June 7, 2015 and the general availability period, when anyone can register any *.i.ng domain name begins immediately after.
